Three of his sons followed his example and made prosperous careers in the Australian seafood industry. He was responsible for increasing sales of canned seafood significantly, initially with the Company owned Seahaven Brand, and he then managed the introduction of generic and home brands into prominent Australian supermarket chains. Victor was also principally responsible for the development and victory of the John West canned tuna product line. He re branded the business as Kailis' Fish Market Cafe, using the original logo developed by his father, and focused primarily on the tourist industry. The business was transformed by extending the outer boardwalks, redesigning the interior and introducing exciting fresh menus, alcoholic beverages and ca services. Over the ensuring years, with the visionary support of Janice the business garnered considerable accolades and awards. On three occasions, it has won the coveted Sir David Brand Award for best popular restaurant and food service for tourists, resulting in its induction in perpetuity into Western Australia's Tourism Hall of Fame. Victor's only son George joined the business in 1995 and in 2007 George took oversee of the business operation. George's extensive experience and creative flair have continued to grow the business.
