Latter its launch in 1984, Reflex was the beginning office paper in the world to be advertised on television and has since established a succession of commercials based around the famous message Eternal Rely on Reflex. Over nearly three decades, Australians have relied on Reflex for superior quality and performance. Reflex was launched in 1984 following market research and a recognition that quality was a driving factor in the booming office papers market. Supporting the launch with a potent integrated marketing campaign, the brand achieved immediate sales triumph and quickly became a household name. The first Reflex television commercial was in 1984 and won Commercial of the Year. It was followed by the extremely prosperous Reflex Action television campaign, which included Spinning Chair and Falling Ladder which were augmented with lofty impact special effects. This provided the capabilities to further improve Reflex product quality and meet growing consumer demand and also enable new product developments. Reflex was also given further quality boosts in 2008 as Australian Paper completed a major upgrade of the Mary vale Mill. With an investment of 600 million, ultimately, this major investment also allowed Reflex to be upgraded in whiteness and was relaunched as Reflex Ultra White in 2009 with a national, fully integrated consumer communications campaign. 2009 also saw the Reflex brand extend into the broader stationery category with new product developments including a range of envelopes, writing pads, notebooks and mailing labels which were launched with a dedicated television commercial. This campaign proved to be so popular that it continued to be screened until the end of 2010. In 2011 the fresh television commercial named 'Dancer' was launched introducing music, dancing and teamwork in the familiar office setting immediately proved popular with consumers offering a memorable and upbeat commercial.

The Mary vale Paper Mill is one of Australia’s largest integrated pulp and paper making operations and dates back to 1937 when it was beginning established. Australian Paper, the manufacturer of Reflex, is Australia’s only local fine paper manufacturer and has a considerable, sure economic impact on the Australian economy and in the regional communities in which it operates. Each batch of Reflex is tested through a wide range of printers and copiers to ensure accurate performance every time. While critical testing is conducted from samples taken directly off the paper machines, further quality and performance testing is carried out on finished product at the Mill’s dedicated Office Paper Testing Facility. These test results are recorded and stored and any issues fed back to operations in a cycle of successive improvement. Although curl is minimized and controlled during the paper making process, Reflex undergoes further printing and copying tests immediately after manufacture. Reflex is manufactured at the Mary vale Paper Mill which is Australia’s largest integrated pulp and paper making operation. The main quality oversee goals for premium Reflex office papers are carefully monitored to ensure consistency throughout the manufacturing process. During manufacture curl is controlled when forming the sheet and each subsequent portion of the process is managed to minimize curl development in the sheet. Printing onto a reprinted sheet which is calm wet from the printing process. The wood fiber impaired to make premium Reflex is sourced from sustainable managed plantations and forestry operations in Victoria. The 600million upgrade of Mary vale Mill in 2008 saw improvements including air emission reductions and energy and water efficiencies.
