Fremantle Ports operates on commercial principles to ensure that the needs of importers and exporters now and in the coming can be met in a sustainable way with the urge of customers and the community. The Port of Fremantle operates through two harbors. Lofty standards of economic and environmental performance, and busy closely with the local community, are the foundations on which Fremantle Ports conducts its business. This was the first time in the history of these awards that a Western Australian organization had been recognized at this level. It forms portion of our overall Environmental Management System and allows us to assess any port related environmental impacts and guide appropriate management actions. As well as its contribution to Western Australia’s economic life, the Port of Fremantle has had a vital wartime role. Fremantle Ports is committed to providing reliable, efficient and commercially viable port services and facilities for our customers. For all cards incorporating Fremantle Ports access, you are needed to total a Safety Induction and bear the printed Safety Induction Certificate before you collect your card. The areas of the port that access is needed. One person can escort up to four people only at anyone time. However, they must be escorted to and from the ship and they will be your responsibility during these times. This includes all persons being escorted. As trucks are expected to remain to be the dominant form of land transport serving Fremantle Port, improvements in trucking efficiency will benefit not only trade but also the community. Fremantle Ports owns and operates a number of meteorological and oceanographic sensors that promote port operations for both our inside and external customers. Given the number of strategic port, industry and utility interests in that area, the Government announced the Western Australian Planning Commission would conduct an overall planning assessment of the environmental, transport, planning and community issues associated with strategic port and industry development in the Kwinana Industrial Area. The deepening project has contributed significantly to the lengthy term sustainability of Fremantle Port’s Inside Barbour as a major gateway for national and international trade. Occupied with the Department of Transport and other agencies, Fremantle Ports has undertaken planning for excess port facilities to cater for trade growth beyond the capacity of Fremantle’s Internal Barbour. Fremantle Ports is seeking to attain a number of strategic objectives in relation to the container trade and the future operation of the international container terminals, including to: Maintain the Port of Fremantle’s role as the State’s principal container handling port, effectively catering for coming growth in Western Australia’s container trade. Maintain a smooth of service to shipping lines, importers and exporters that is comparable to leading international container terminal operations. Ensure container terminal operators labor proactively with supply chain participants (for example, shipping, rail and trucking companies) to prosper efficiencies that will ensure sustainable growth within and beyond the port gate. Urgent features of the development include the fresh Truck Facility with felling facilities and amenities to assist traffic flow within the area, increased separation of trucks and light vehicles for improved road safety and a fresh road along the seawall to improve public safety and access to North Mole. Construction of roads and other infrastructure was completed in 2013. New internal roads to bear efficient and sound access for trucks to industrial lots.
