Since its foundation, CBC Fremantle has shrived to elevate appropriate young men with a strong sense of justice who are prepared to shape a better world. The community of the Christian Brothers has been an integral piece of the College's life since 1901. For much of the College's history this community provided all the staffing for the school and accepted responsibility for the well being of students. On the southern side of the campus is the College's original building, Edmund Hall, which was built in 1882. At CBC Fremantle we embark on a shared journey with the families of the College in the development of their sons from today's boys into the gentlemen of tomorrow. Tomorrow's gentleman forms attitudes and actions based on Gospel values. Tomorrow's gentleman strives to be his superior and understands the inherent value of doing so. The Christian message which forms the base of our school's philosophy could not be more diametrically opposed. Tomorrow's gentleman recognizes and values the 'other' in his life. This 'other' can be the stranger in the sense that they are not personally known to us or they can be the person who offers us the maximum defy to our beliefs. The Board generally meets 7 times each year.

A previous Fenian convict, an architect by profession, drew up the plans for the school and it was built from stone quarried on site. A change in the colony's Education Act in 1895 meant that all financial promote for church based schools was withdrawn. The recently arrived religious order of Christian Brothers was invited to receive charge of the Parish School and to establish a High School for the education of boys in Fremantle. Thirty boys were enrolled but this number grew to 90 within four weeks. The community of the Christian Brothers has been an integral portion of the College's life since 1901. For much of the College's history this community provided all the staffing for the school and accepted responsibility for the healthy being of students. For the preceding 20 years the College has been staffed predominantly by lay teachers. Today CBC Fremantle still operates on its ingenious site and experiences a powerful connection to the historic city in which it thrives. It has a special deposit in the city of Fremantle renowned for the quality of its students, academic endeavor, sporting achievements and contributions to the community.
